“Do You.”

Yesterday night, I had the opportunity to meet Jasmine Star (http://www.jasminestarblog.com/index.cfm) at her “The Fix”. She was absolutely fabulous! It was an amazing, inspiring moment for me because recently with everything that life throws at me, I feel like I have been struggling to balance everything in my life and figuring what I really  want in my life. Of course, photography and my business is one of my main priorities right now. I love what I do, I am so blessed to have so many people in my life supporting me in making my dream come true.

But last night made me realize that if I wanted to get my head on straight, I need to change. Not for anyone else, but for ME. I need to care less about what others think of me, because it will only bring me down more. I need to live my life like I only have 25 minutes left. What would you do if you only had 25 minutes left? I thought about that last night. “What would I do…?” Definitely a change I need to make.

I hope that after this, I will be able to really figure out what I want, continue to do what I love to do, and grow, not only as a photographer, but as a person. As me.

I hope to be blogging more:)Fingers crossed!!!!

Long time no chat! However, wow you have really grown as a photog. The photos are gorgeous!! :D I am very happy for you and your business. :)

Appreciation & Respect.

That’s all we want.

Weddings are definitely expensive. But each photographer charges equivalent to their own expenses.

For myself, as a photographer… I just started about a year ago & shot a good amount of weddings, so my prices are hopefully somewhat reasonable. I always try to work it out with the bride and groom’s budget, and hope to help them in any way possible to make their big day as special as it should be. But I am also a full-time student at my local community college, ( which I pay for all my college fees & books), I am working part-time at a yogurt place, & I pay for my own equipment, & my website, my blog, my business cards.  & TRUST ME, I GOT IT GOOD. (Not just my own situation, but there are photographers out there, who pay for rent, phone bills, car bills, bills, bills, bills….)

A wedding day is just not one day. A wedding day for us is a month, or two, even three. With all the time we spend to edit, and make sure your photos are perfect, make sure we burn out enough images in HIGH-RES, on DVDs, make sure we got your album for you, make sure you received your photos via mail. It’s tough being a wedding photographer. Like a photographer has stated, the next morning after shooting a wedding, your body really wears down on you, & you will feel every single bone in your body aching.

In conclusion, I’m just saying, we just want to be appreciated for the hard work we put in to make sure your wedding day is as perfect as can be, & we hope to earn that respect from you.

Just a thought worth thinking about the next time you look for a photographer to shoot your special day.

{Red Balloon 2011} Touro University in Vallejo, CA

Last year in November, I had the opportunity to be a part of an amazing event for Project Red Balloon at Touro University in Vallejo, CA. The founder of this non-profit organization is a dear friend of mine, Jennifer A. Tran. She is an amazing and inspiring person. I’ve worked with her before when I was shooting some portraits for her. So when she had asked me to come along and help document this benefit concert for her, I gladly accepted it and I had so much fun at the concert! There was so many talents artists and I got to meet new people. And we all came there for one purpose, that was to help support and raise money for children in the hospital.

If you don’t know about Project Red Balloon, I highly suggest you read more about it and what exactly it is that Jennifer and many others do to help children in need.

Here is the link to her site: Project Red Balloon.

Enjoy the photos!!

Here is some from the portrait session I did with her a while back too!
